DIY CNC Build in Switzerland - Cutting the T Slot Aluminium Extrusions

I have decided to build a robust and strong CNC base. So I decided to use T Slot Aluminium extrusions for construction. I have bought:

•  T Slot Aluminum Extrusion 30 Series 30-30.
  
•  T Slot Aluminum Extrusion 40 Series 40-40.

So I need to cut the extrusions according to my design. I have only circular saw and a jig saw as tools. I needed something to cut the extrusions.

I decided to use hacksaw. For this reason a needed a guide to cut straight 90 degree angles. So I built one:

In order to have a better visualization and to see possible problems, I have used google sketchup to design the CNC in exactly the same dimensions that I will use.

Image 1 Shows the upper view. The cnc will be a belt drive cnc. I have not designed the belt drive. I am currently building a gear reduction from scratch, This will follow in the next posts.

The sketchup design showed me that I need to align the motors so that It would not hit the gantry.

PS: It is extra hard in Switzerland as we do not have enough suppliers or the ones charge incredible amount of money for materials.
